The Ayrshire Clubs were originally affiliated to the West of Scotland Association, as it was not until probably 1923 that the Ayrshire District Association was formed.  The papers relating to its formation cannot, unfortunately, be traced.

The Ayrshire Association covers approximately 7.5% of theScottish population, and has at present 10 affiliated clubs.

Affiliated Clubs participate in the Scottish Cup, the first stage of which runs alongside the District Inter-Club leagues, of which there are three divisions and a newly formed 'Development' division for men and ladies. 

In August  a mixed doubles knock-out competition is open to all affiliated clubs. Details of all competitons can be viewed under the 'Competitions' tab on the header.
